Freethought Friends - Family, and sols new to the community, it is a privilege to share these messages of humanity with you; from the voices of the people. Mixed Martial Arts is not just an art form, nor a means to fight and/or hurt individuals. It is a pathway to a higher form of self, respect, discipline, and ironically it hurts; a lot! Why people of all walks of life find themselves drawn to martial arts and the strength of its teachings. The question is what are those teachings, and how do they hold real life implications?

We were able to sit and talk with Elj @1one_n_only1likeme Portee, just before his bout on May 1st. Discussing the trivial and not so trivial act of fighting for one's life. Everyone knows what it means to be a fighter, but what does it mean to fight for your life. To use the principles we are taught in the cage, and on the mats to better ourselves outside the sporting venue and watchful eyes of the public. What does it mean to figure out “How to kick a bag”? How in the hell does it make you a better individual?

From walking in the front door on your first day, being greeted by a monster of a coach, coming home and holding your loved ones after a hard day, to fighting on the big stage. The gifts taught to fighters are more than a championship belt, flocking fans, and even as a UFC Champion still dreaming of earning an equitable living. We carry them when we embrace a teammate before, during, and after a chin to the dome. There is more to Mixed Martial Arts, the practitioners of the arts, and their lives than mere entertainment. Take the time to hear the heart, blood, sweat, and tears behind the Fighting Life, Heartbeat at a time.

Thank you to @1one_n_only1likeme for taking the time to sit and discuss with us how to be genuine Mixed Martial Artists. We will not be taking you up on that punching bag session. Jasmine not very often is the partner and main supporter heard. Thank you immensely for sharing the other side of this story. @Prmtvsls for the music; pick up the pace folk.
Thank you to the listeners helping us spread humanity out there. Please take the time to share, rate, and tell a story. Be blessed.
