"Freedom Might Cost You Everything" is all about Memorial Day. So often, we look at this 'holiday' as an excuse to just have fun and relax without giving reverence to those that sacrificed their lives to keep us safe.
(Cold Open)- Lyrics read from Johnny Cash's "Ragged Old Flag" with sound effects and music.
Mr. Erik Zipperer, retired special forces (Army), is our guest this week. Although we only cover military themes in this podcast, future episodes will contain homesteading wisdom. He shares his experiences in the military, the "brotherhood", the commander's intent, what Memorial Day means, its symbolism, and how to speak to those grieving. He shares his reason for entering the profession (answering the calling) and encouragement for those in all walks of life.
Clips from my youngest son Griffin's Kindergarten graduation make up our intermissions-- songs and his name being announced to receive his diploma.
We also conclude with a time of calling names submitted through our FB group page and personal messages.
