Hello and welcome to Perfectly Connected. I'm Jessica Roberts and my pronouns are she / her. I’m a photographer, speaker & author in the making based in Melbourne Australia.
We live in a disconnected world, yet ironically we’re the most connected (digitally) we’ve ever been.
As a photographer, I’ve witnessed so many different types of connection – both behind and in front of the lens. And what I’ve noticed is that when people are being photographed, they often try to be something that they’re not.
We are taught through media and advertising that we should be a certain way and that when we step in front of the camera we should be “photogenic”. This project aims to smash the beliefs around perfect and photogenic and explores all things body language, purpose, inclusion and connection. I believe that your insecurities perceived imperfection is your superpower and that there is no such thing as normal or perfect.
It is my mission to give you the confidence to be unapologetically you.
I can’t wait to disrupt your beliefs and learned behaviours and for you to step into your totally amazing imperfections.
Thanks for joining me, did it work, am I challenging the way you think about yourself, about perfect and photos. I would love it if you left me a review, dropped me a dm and shared this podcast and your lightbulb moments.
If you would to connect I hang out on insta as @jessicaroberts_official - if you would like to book a shoot with me, check out my DIY branding shoot course or work on your website then you can find me @thewho_photography_design
