Is it easier to just do it yourself?

On this week's straight-talking smart tech podcast, The Hack hosts Leon, Paul, and Dean talk about 100x Leader Developing others. They examine the subject of developing others within teams and how to overcome the challenges and manage the process effectively when delegating to different kinds of people.

"It takes hard work to develop others, but it doesn't have to be difficult."

What's discussed?

The first step in becoming an effective leader is developing a clear understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. Once you have a good sense of your capabilities, you can begin to identify the areas in which you need to develop others. One of the most important aspects of effective leadership is the ability to help others reach their potential.

Dean quotes, "Sometimes you don't necessarily feel like you are leading and developing others effectively. It’s not just skills; we focus on developing people based on skills and past experiences."

The five levels of leadership!

A book which has inspired Leon recently by John C Maxwell-The 5 Levels of Leadership, has a great quote where John says: “nobody achieves anything great by giving the minimum, no teams win championships without making sacrifices and giving the best.”

We often have to give more than the minimum to develop others effectively. We have to be willing to sacrifice our time, energy, and resources to help others reach their potential. Doing so can create a legacy of greatness that will outlast our lives.

Maxwell's book shows you how to go from being a boss to becoming a genuine leader, get people to follow you without relying on your position, and create a legacy that will endure the test of time.
