2001 was one of the best years in music. Britney was a slave 4 us, Janet was giving it all for us, Destiny’s Child were survivors and Mariah Carey was throwing glitter everywhere. But it was Usher who held it down for the men this year, delivering one of his most timeless albums in his discography. After multiple delays due to the changing world of the music industry, 8701 finally came into our lives in August 2001 and brought along with it some timeless tunes. Songs like “U Remind Me” “U Got It Bad” and “U Don’t Have To Call” have been cemented as R&B classics and in today’s episode of Planet 2000’s we dive deep into the history and story of 8701.
