He is the Dean of Entrepreneurship/Platinum Circle of Bo Sanchez’s Truly Rich Club and a lead advocate and AMEN Pioneer mentor of Go Negosyo. He is also a former adjunct faculty on Entrepreneurship at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).

At present, he is the Chairman of SPAC Information Technology Inc., a company that provides IT business solutions and systems developers augmentation in the US. He is also a director of the CARAGA Renewable Energy Corporation, a multi-billion-peso power plant venture in Mindanao.

He is also a best-selling author of five books:
➤ How to Become a Happy Retiree: A Guide to Retiring Wealthy and Worthy in your 40s
➤ How to Turn Your Passion into Profit: 8 Keys to Build a Truly Rich Business
➤ Go Negosyo: 21 Hakbang sa Pagsisimula ng Sarili Mong Negosyo
➤ Go Negosyo: 21 Steps on How to Start Your Own Business
➤ Be Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy Today: How to Be Richer with Life Lessons from the Teacher and the Preacher

In this episode, Dean shares that he sets two objectives whenever he mentors leaders: survival and growth. Why? Because these are the outcomes of a resilient leader. Survival because it’s business continuity and growth because it’s recovery and business advantage.

He highlighted that the one who will survive the new normal and uncertainty is not the smartest, not the strongest but the one most responsive to change.

You have to figure things out, in real-time, under stress. That is what crisis leadership is. You have to turn Volatility to Vision, Uncertainty to Understanding, Complexity to Clarity and Ambiguity to Agility.
When former Pres. Duterte declared the pandemic in March, Dean researched the Model of Business Continuity and Growth Mindset. He found and attended a program by Harvard Business School called “Coping with Sudden Changes in Cash Needs and Availability”.

One must have a growth mindset in order to succeed. Success is all about fears, the risks that you take, your self-doubts, rejections, and failures. Self-discipline is doing the things you need to do even when you don’t feel like doing it.

He also emphasized the difference between mastery and mastering. Mastery will take you a period or season while mastering will take you a lifetime because of a reason.

Redefine the depth of growth between goals, responses, effort, strategies and results. Growth always starts with you. Growth is up to you. Resilience in Leadership is like a road that’s got a lot of pessimists — it could even be your close friends, relatives, and society. You have to hurdle to get to your goals.

Whatever you seek, you have to size then seize it. Act with determination and purpose to achieve your results. Begin with your end goal in mind. Dedicate a high level of energy to make things happen. Take the initiative and action quickly. Build and maintain networks. Stay focused on priorities and avoid distractions. Be persistent and recover well from setbacks.
