Preparing for the impending catastrophic end of the world has become a hobby and obsession for a portion of the population known as “Preppers”. Sales of “survival” gear and training for catastrophic scenarios have never been as lucrative. Even as this population marks more potential situations averted than any before it, we remain fixated upon the seeming inevitability of a coming collapse.
However, as we stockpile goods beyond our wildest needs, and buy gadgets never tested in a real-world scenario, do we ever stop to consider what things would prove the most useful of all?
