Manage episode 337469347 series 3381565
Fireweed is an artist and photographer who's been active for decades as an ecofeminist in the social justice, environmental and animal rights movements, all of which she sees as interconnected. She is currently involved in a variety of different projects that concern animals, with a special passion for the intersection of animals and the politics of food.
Fireweed launched 'The Elephant in the Room is a COW’ Facebook Group as a resource site for activists to share and access resources specifically focused on the ways animal agriculture impacts earth and climate. Fireweed also contributes a column to “The Island Word,” a monthly regional paper available on the islands off the coast of British Columbia.
