DULY NOTED: On Monday evening all 100 beds in the Emergency Department at the University Hospital in Nice - the largest in France - were occupied. Some patients were being treated in corridors. A staff shortage has been blamed, in turn due to coronavirus isolation, holidays and burn-out. About 40% of staff are absent.
