With the advent of the 2022 NFL season, HTTD's Rajan Nanavati and Pat Rice reconvene for their annual two-part preview of the professional football team in Washington (now known as the Commanders). In Part 1, they discuss the defense. They start with the secondary, including Rajan's irrational disdain for one of Washington's starters at the spot (3:03) and the top heavy but thin-on-depth cornerback spot (10:57). Next up is linebacker, in which they discuss the baffling trend of that position remaining the worst group on the team (22:40). Then they move onto the defensive line, talking about Montez Sweat being primed for a monster season after all the adversity he dealt with last year (33:17), DaRon Payne (maybe) still having long-term potential to remain in Washington as he also looks primed for a huge year (37:38), and if former defensive line coach Sam Mills was the reason that Matt Ioannidis left Washington.
