On this episode of the Career Ready Podcast, we discuss what transferable skills are and how they can be used during a job search and within the workplace. We also introduce a resource for job seekers with disabilities called AbilityLinks and hear from one of our listeners.
Topic #1 - AbilityLinks Resource: Pierre introduces AbilityLinks, which is a resource for job seekers with disabilities. He interviews Kate Beck, AbilityLinks Program Coordinator, who discusses the website’s features and how they can be used. Kate will be doing a demonstration of the platform as a part of our webinar series in October for National Disability Employment Awareness Month or NDEAM.
Topic #2 - Transferable Skills: Michelle leads the discussion on why transferable skills are important. We also hear from Rebecca and Pierre about how to highlight transferable skills in your resume as well as an interview.
Topic #3 - Listener Mail: Rebecca answered a Listener Mail Question: “What tips do you have for someone that is changing careers? What should I focus on with my resume and in my interview?”
