Singer Songwriter Trapper Haskins joins host David W. Williams to discuss his latest release, Blood In The Honey. They discuss Haskins' journey that arcs from a New England wood boat maker with a 2,300 mile trek down the Mississippi River, to a vintage baseball player and founder of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Baseball, to a Nashville cabinet maker, and finally, to a Nashville recording artist. That journey includes becoming a father and writing articles that have been carried in periodicals like Sports Illustrated, Wooden Bat, and American Songwriter. They talk about Haskin's recording career from his early days with Trapper Haskins & the Bitter Swill, to his solo career. They discuss how the places he has lived ranging from cities and states like Memphis, Maine, NY, NC, New Orleans, and Nashville have really shaped and informed his writing. They deep dive on Blood In The Honey, playing clips from songs as we discuss them. They talk about the production and arrangement of the songs on the album.
