October is Filipino-American History Month here in the US and in the Philippines, it’s National Indigenous Peoples’ Month so I really wanted to dedicate this episode to Filipino heritage, indigenous history, and I wanted to give my mom the space to talk about what is was like to grow up as an Indigenous person and an immigrant. I think her story would resonate with a lot of those listening, particularly those that are immigrants or children of immigrants.
