On this episode, we will be discussing the curiosity that is Murderabilia and whether or not horror films (or even just “regular” films) glorify and romanticize the killers and the objects they leave behind. Joining me in this discussion are Morbidly Beautiful Staff Writers Jamie Marino and Joe Quinones (AKA Dungus Dundorrean) as we look into this macabre and fascinating fetish/hobby.

Murderabilia is a term identifying collectibles related to murders and murderers or other violent crimes (the term was coined by Andy Kahan, director of the Houston Police Department’s Crime Victims) and is a booming business.

We will discuss some on the names that are famous in this hobby that include Gacy, Dahmer, Bundy, Manson and more. Are these objects — including paintings, sculptures, letters, and autographs — art, or simply serial killer celebrity? Does the horror industry glamorize these killers to the point that it helps drive this industry? Sure to be a fascinating discussion! (Original Air Date: 3/5/19)

In addition to our featured discussion, we’ll be featuring more great content in our regular segments:

  • In our first Digital Dismemberment Spotlight, we will be reviewing Scream Factory’s Blu-ray release of The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) Unrated Director’s Cut (part of The Human Centipede (The Complete Sequence) Box Set).
  • In our second Digital Dismemberment Spotlight, we will review Arrow Video’s Blu-ray release of Brain Damage.
  • In our Metal Massacre Spotlights this evening, we will be featuring three bands, including Imperative PR’s Foul Body Autopsy, as well as Metal Blade Record’s Between The Buried And Me and Whitechapel!
