New technology, automation, and industrialization helped end slavery, and those very same reasons are significant contributors to why we have an alarming amount of unskilled and unemployed citizens. Robots and computers are slowly replacing low-skilled workers. In order to succeed, we must be adaptable and willing to learn valuable and specialized skills.
