In what could signal a shift for the GOP, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is using the power of government in an attempt to control the actions of private industry. After a public spat with Disney over education policy, he wrestled control away from the company over the private district that includes Disneyland. He also signed a law that fines social media companies for de-platforming any political candidate, even if that candidate repeatedly violates the company's terms of service. As DeSantis is a presumed frontrunner for the 2024 presidential nomination, this could indicate change within the Republican Party away from laissez-faire economics and toward more government control. We'll talk with a prominent member of the party. PLUS: Some of the biggest proposals from both parties this legislative session have died quick deaths in Olympia. AND: How America is woefully unprepared for the next pandemic, both medically and politically. Guests include State Senator Marko Liias, KVI's John Carlson, and Paul Queary of the Washington Observer. The Northwest Politicast with Jeff Pohjola: From this Washington to that one, Jeff Pohjola will explore the issues and politics of the week. Frequent guests and top analysts break down the news to get to the heart of what matters most. Subscribe at nwnewsradio.com or on your favorite podcast app.
