I must say Motown had Flava. I was reading a Motown lists of songs that almost got rejected and one of them was Smokey Robinson’s, Tears of a Clown.

The Tears of a Clown is a song written by Hank Cosby, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder and originally recorded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles. When you’ve got taste in music that doesn’t mean it’s always going to be somebody else’s taste. But the Tears of a Clown was a single that made it and quickly became a #1 hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B Singles charts. The song is an international multi - million seller and 2002 Grammy Hall of Fame Inductee.
