Have you ever taken a road trip without counting the cost? In order to be better equipped for the trip, you must first find out the overall cost of the trip. There is always a cost, too often we make decisions without counting the cost of our decision. There are several passages in the bible where people have promised to follow Christ wherever he may go. Christ responds in a manner that left some wondering was the journey worth the exchange. Today, many have had the same encounter on their own journey in life. Too often we are willing to give God our yes but not the stuff that we have acquired during our short stay here on earth. Have you counted the cost of following Jesus? There is a great reward for those who are willing to give up everything to follow Jesus. What are you willing to give up to follow Jesus? Remember, it is always wise to count the cost before surrendering your yes. What idol in your life must you cast down to follow Jesus?
