On this episode, my guest is Mike Indovina, who began his career as a drummer and went on to become an established recording, mixing, and mastering engineer who has worked with hundreds of artists in multiple genres ranging from punk, rock, pop, hip hop and more.
He is also the author of a #1 Amazon best selling book, “The Mixing Mindset: The Step-By-Step Formula For Creating Professional Rock Mixes From Your Home Studio”.

In addition, Mike is a successful coach who established his masteryourmix.com website where he has helped teach thousands of aspiring studio engineers how to create pro-level recordings and mixes from their home studios.

In our interview today, we discuss his transition from being a working drummer to establishing himself as a much sought after recording engineer and coach.
We also talk about the value of seeking out any opportunities and experiences to learn about our interests but also why it’s important to develop a plan to ensure that our skills are focused to help achieve our goals and commit to completing our projects, which are too often abandoned because we lack the confidence we require to see things through.
