On today’s episode, I’m beginning the conversation around menstrual shame and a person's experience of menarche. Menarche is the first period, and it represents one of the most significant moments in a woman's life and an incredible rite of passage. It marks the beginning of the life-death lifecycle within female body, and I believe that, in order to support the generations to come, it is our responsibility to heal the period wound and the body shame, and reclaim our power as creators.

Before we get into the episode, we are going to hear some beautiful astrological and cosmological wisdom from Danielle, who is sharing the story of goddess Lilith. You will learn how this story relates to the theme of menstrual shame, of reclaiming your feminine power and your sexuality, and of stepping into full embodiment.

What You’ll Discover:

  • 06:25 - What the archetype of Lilith represents
  • 11:27 - How our experience of menarche impacts how we relate to our body
  • 14:55 - Different expressions of menstrual shame that we’ve experienced
  • 19:38 - How we can support our young girls to be the advocates for their health
  • 24:30 - Where the resentment toward our bodies come from and how to dissolve it
  • 30:40 - Why your menarche matters
