TW: domestic violence, animal abuse
If you or someone you know is a victim of Domestic Abuse, I urge you to reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline by calling 800-799-7233 or by texting START to 88788.
Lee Mikeal Cawthon had an extensive history of being a violent individual and possessive partner. Early indications showed that he had no remorse or regard for any form of life. His first wife was barely able to escape with their two children from their abusive marriage, but she wouldn't be his last victim.
Lee met Rebecca, his step-father's niece, when she was just 8 years-old and he was 17. Later on, when Rebecca was 15, the two would develop an intimate relationship and would eventually get married. Lee and Rebecca's marriage seemed picture perfect, but Lee thought something was missing - a third person. This would be what ultimately led to the couple's demise.
