Imagination: God's Design for Artistic Encounter
Manage episode 362936517 series 3435877
In this episode, we explore the power of the imagination as a way for God to communicate with us as individuals and to work through us as artists. Drawing from a teaching by C.S. Lewis and dream where Borin was shown a younger version of himself playing with action figures with a totally free imagination, we examine the reasons why fear, pain, and rejection can cause us to stifle our imagination and how to overcome these barriers through God's grace. By resurrecting our free imagination and being vulnerable and courageous with our creativity, we can encounter God in new ways and share that encounter with others through our artwork.
Borin Doulos is a singer-songwriter, composer, and musical intercessor at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. He's released many musical works varying in style from instrumental piano to Christian experimental rock.
