Greetings, and welcome to The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week, the podcast companion to The End, the weekly newsletter that shines a light back on audio fiction shows after they've reached the finale of a season or the conclusion of the series. Last Week

The most recent issue of The End - the 36th - highlighted 5 shows in the Season Finales & Finished Series section, but only 1 of them wrapped within the last week:

• Love, Murder, Florida, a dramatized crime dark comedy from Voyage Media, posted the 4th and final episode on May 5th. You can listen to the complete story in less than an hour and a half.

This Week

With every issue, I made two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As will all things in life, YMMV.

• The first is Deviser, a dramatized horror series from Harlan Guthrie. Astute listeners will recognize this show from way back in last week when it appeared because it was newly complete. I’ve since listened to all seven episodes and found it to be one of the finest shows I’ve listened to this year. Listen to the trailer and hear some of that for yourself. [trailer plays] Harlan dropped all seven episodes of Deviser on May 1st. Listen to the whole thing in less than 3 hours.
• My second recommendation is Rabbits, a dramatized thriller from Terry Miles. The first season has been a classic of podcast fiction since it came out in 2017. It took them 4 years, but the second season was completed in March of 2022. There isn’t a trailer for Rabbits, but here’s the opening 90 seconds or so. [audio plays] Rabbits currently consists of 20 episodes across two seasons, giving you a little over 14 hours of enjoyment.

Next Week

The latest issue of The End has 2 entries in the New Seasons Coming Soon section, and one of them starts next week:

• Residents of Proserpina Park, a dramatized urban fantasy comedy from Angela Yih will start it’s 3rd season on May 15th. It will take you about four and a half hours to listen to the 20 prior episodes.
