The life of Elisa Iannacone touches areas which many photographers shy away from, yet her positivity and creativity shine through in her inspirational conceptual images and films.

Mexican-born Elisa has travelled and worked around the world. She is a conceptual photographer and filmmaker. Her work is unusual and striking, covering challenging environments, from the Rabaa massacre in Cairo to domestic violence within Iraqi refugee camps and dealing with difficult issues like rape and child illness. She aims to reinterpret traumatic moments with a positive twist.

She has worked on six continents producing work for publications such as Newsweek, National Geographic, and BBC World. Her work has been present around the world, and among her achievement, she has given a TED talk.

Elisa founded Reframe House media agency to shift views on social justice through multi-media. She studied at universities City University in London, UK and York University in Canada, graduating with honours BA in film Production – Cinematography and MA in International Journalism – Conflict Reporting.

Here she discusses her approaches to dealing with difficult and emotive subjects, and her creative ideas develop into strikingly beautiful images, refining traumatic experiences and helping the victims to reframe their experiences and help with the recovery process.
