Chakanetsa Mavhunga is a tenured Associate Professor of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) at MIT and the founder of Research || Design || Build, an innovation consultancy that works with communities, corporations, and governments to create and implement sustainable local solutions to local problems. He is the author of three books on African science, technology, and innovation: Transient Workspaces: Technologies of Everyday Innovation in Zimbabwe (2014); What Do Science, Technology, and Innovation Mean from Africa? (2017), and The Mobile Workshop: The Tsetse Fly and African Knowledge Production (2018). He has also published more than 20 book chapters and articles and delivered numerous distinguished lectures and chaired panels at high-level meetings, including at TED, Google, the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings.
