This week we had world renowned composer Nicolás Humberto Reppetto talk about his journey as an immigrant from Argentina. He talks about his early influences in his music and compositions. You will find a common thread of traits one must master to be great at their vocation. His latest work is the original score for the feature documentary “A Run for More,” composed by Nicolás Humberto Repetto, was pre-released on Apple Music on May 3, 2023, and was followed by a full digital release everywhere on May 10. The film is directed by Pulitzer Prize-winner Ray Whitehouse and follows the story of Frankie Gonzales-Wolfe, a transgender woman running for city council in San Antonio, Texas. Repetto worked on the musical sound design, mixing, orchestration, and mastering of the score’s album himself. With Frankie’s journey in mind, Repetto orchestrated a score with two themes, described as “hope” and “struggle.” The hope theme encompasses Frankie’s family, friends, supporters, and optimism, while the struggle theme captures her hardships in running for office and the deep personal facets of Frankie’s life that caused her trauma.
