AL is a programming language used to customize and extend the functionality of Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Business Central. Have you ever thought about what is involved in maintaining the Language?

With the emergence of Dynamics 365 Business Central, a new programming language called AL was introduced to replace C/AL (which represents C/Advanced Language), the Language used in the previous ERP solution known as Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Developers use AL to create extensions that provide functionality beyond the base Business Central application. These extensions enable developers to add fresh features, modify existing ones, or alter system behavior while preserving the core application.

In this episode, we are joined by Steffen Balslev, a key team member responsible for managing the AL Compiler. We explore its purpose, functionality, and operation in detail.
