How do you handle becoming paralyzed as a teenager? You don’t have to look too far to see someone else going through a more difficult time than you, such as Tyler Childs. It’s not often you read a young man’s letter and ask him to join your show without notice. Such is the case with Tyler. He sent me a request letter asking for my autograph on some baseball cards. For some strange reason, I took the time to sit in a place of solitude and carefully read Tyler’s note. When I reached the line, “My senior year of high school, I decided to drive drunk and ended up in a car accident which left me paralyzed for life. Don’t feel sorry for me. My motto is if ‘I cannot stand up, I’ll stand out,’” it encouraged me. Tyler remembers his dad’s resounding words the night before the accident, “Son, eighteen can either make you or break you.” It broke Tyler yet he is traveling a journey of hope and encourages others! Hosted by Scotti Madison.
