Hello, I’m Gail Nobles & you’re listening to Sound Flave Radiae Applis. Do you remember the R&B group Nu Shooz from the 80’s? You may remember them from their hits like “I Can’t Wait” from their second album “Tha’s Right” in 1985. And their song, “Point of No Return” which was the second single taken from the Nu Shooz album Poolside. The single was realeased in 1986.
Valerie Day was the lead singer of the group Nu Shooz in the 80’s along with her husband John Smith.
The music of Nu Shooz was so irresistible. They had a great baseline and beat in the song “I Can’t Wait." I remember a rap song came right after that. The title of the song was Spyder D - I Can’t Wait (To Rock the Mike) Featuring DJ Doc.
“They can’t wait to graduate, but I got to rock the mic. I can’t wait to rock the mic. You know I just can’t wait.” ..
The best days of music. The best days of R&B. The best days of hip hop.
The last I heard Valerie Day and John Smith of Nu Shooz are still rocking. They make time seem like it stood still. The last I heard, the group still tour today, but recently, according to nushoozmusic.com, there are no upcoming tour dates.
They have an album out now called “Bagtown." I love the single, Bagtown.
“Always something going on when you go down to Bagtown.”
That’s a nice single. You’ve got to hear it. You can hear the whole album on nushoozmusic.com. They have more songs.
I’m Gail Nobles. Tune in again next time for more on Sound Flave Radiae Applis. ..
