Episode 91: It’s Time to Break Out of Your Identity and Your Old Habits
Manage episode 367861085 series 2712175
One of Sonia C.’s favorite teachings that she loves to pass down to others is to never assume you know anything about anyone; including yourself. This subject has come up recently because Sonia C. is currently teaching a very intense intuitive course and a lot of her students are undergoing a new creation of self and a huge transformation within.
This week’s theme is about: Let go of your identity.
Highlights:
Beyond your ‘job’ and your career, who are you? [1:35]
Sonia C. made a big move and attended a big party of 150 people. What did she learn? [4:50]
Do not lock yourself into who you are, always leave room for a surprise. [7:45]
When Sonia T. really came out of her shell and embraced an intuitive life, it was when she was in college. [13:20]
Sonia C.’s story of coming out as an intuitive was much different. She was really misunderstood in the beginning. [18:00]
What other people think of you isn’t your business. Being yourself is your business! [18:20]
Party games only work when people are in their spirit, which is why you should play more games! [24:20]
Instead of getting stuck in the swirl, make a decision to do something different. [27:50]
Tool of the week. [30:15]
Question of the week. [38:45]
One of Sonia C.’s students is a retired school teacher that spent the last 30+ years in education. When she is teaching this person how to live a more intuitive life, there’s some resistance happening, which makes sense! This teacher is at a complete loss for ‘who’ she is. Her identity has shifted, and now she’s wandering trying to figure out what’s next for her. However, she’s stuck. She wants to be an -artist-, she wants to be a -traveler-, but she’s holding onto the past and it’s keeping her stuck.
It’s so important to not over-identify with what we’re doing. We shouldn’t let ‘our doing’ define who we are and what we can and can not be. Sonia T. believes that when you’re over-identifying as this ‘one thing’, you’re too much in your ego and you’re not in your natural state of being and intuition. You need to embrace the part of you that just wants to play in the playground. Don’t wag your finger at that hopeful and exploratory sense of self.
Tool of the Week: When you prioritize play, the universe rewards you.
Question of the Week: My energy levels are all over the place. Highs and lows. How can I get more grounded?
