Have you ever had that feeling where you eat and 30 minutes later you’re hungry again?

It makes no sense. You KNOW logically you shouldn’t be hungry, but here you are starving. And on top of that, you have no idea what you’re craving. You don’t know what you’re hungry for. So you eat the comfort foods, you eat the ice cream. Because those things usually do the trick and satisfy you.

And an hour later you’re hungry again! So you think you’re starved for nutrients so you try something healthy. But you’re still not satiated.

Here’s the thing, this kind of hunger doesn’t just apply to food. It’s a pattern that’ll show up in many aspects of your life, including your work!

So how does this hunger apply to work?

It starts when you think there is not enough time to get everything done. And I know you’re thinking, “Um, Genea, that’s every day of my life.”

Just hear me out.

You start working longer hours because you need to get everything done. You start getting less and less sleep. Because you’re getting home later, and when you lie in bed your brain is spinning about what you have to do.

You can barely get moving in the morning, but you get up and get your butt to work. You must get it all done!

You use all the things to get you through the day. More caffeine, more food, more sugar. You must override how tired you are because you must do more. You must get more done.

In the back of your head, you’re thinking, “Once I get everything on this list done, then I can relax.”

So you keep going, and you push harder.

But as soon as you get it all done, you see 10 more things that need to be done.

There is no rest for you.

But what you don’t realize is that this pattern is a sign you have an insatiable hunger. You are hungry for doing more. And no matter how much you do it will never be enough.

I know you think there will be some magical endpoint, but there’s not. And if there were, you would have already found it because you’re smart and hardworking.

The key to stopping the hunger is to make yourself realize you’re already full.

So how do you do that?

I’m glad you asked. This hunger is exactly what Bratcha Goetz and I are going to talk about on this week’s podcast. And we’ll give you some tips for stopping the hunger in all areas of your life. Because you deserve to feel like you can put the work down. You deserve to feel full and satiated, so you can feel happy in all areas of your life.
