The mastery of the English language is significantly important for people working in the tourist industry, and especially tour guides, due to their constant contact with foreign tourists. In fact, they need to master not only General English, but also English for Specific Purposes, basic communication, cross-cultural communication as well as leadership skills, and be aware of the tourist resources of their country. Thus, teachers and educators need to meet the challenge of creating a curriculum that will incorporate the instruction of the above-mentioned variety of skills.
