I first saw Doug Etzler play high school basketball during the 1987-88 season, when he was a freshman point guard playing for his father, Ray Etzler at Crestview High School. I followed his playing career closely, as he would square off with my twin brother twice just a couple of years later. After his stellar playing career at Crestview, Doug spent four years at The Ohio State University and then a short career playing professionally in England. His coaching journey began in the late 1990's, and has culminated in him returning home to lead the program at Crestview. He led the Knights to a state Final Four appearance in 2023. More than 30 years after watching him play for the first time, I am now blessed to call Doug a friend. I am ecstatic to let him share his story about Basketball and Life.
