31 years ago, the 1992 LA riots burned through many businesses in the LA, devastating many in its wake. In response to the threat of their businesses being looted or burned down, Korean immigrants took to the roofs of their businesses to protect their livelihoods. This episode looks into the start of the riots, what caused the strains, and potentially why the Roof Koreans were ones who had to fight that much harder for their protection.
