Do you prefer the comfort of a predictable existence or the exhilaration of a life filled with risks and uncertainties? Embracing the unknown can bring unparalleled freedom and spontaneity, but at what cost?

Today, I delve into this intriguing dilemma with my guest, drawing from his personal experiences and taking inspiration from figures like Rick Ruben. Dive in with us as we explore the dichotomy of safety versus uncertainty.

My guest today is visionary Chatham Sullivan the Founder of Nof1. He isn't just a student of systems, institutions, and organisations but an architect who moulds them. He builds weird new things inside of organisations, i.e. rituals, structures, whatever opens them up to allow those organisations to breathe and evolve differently.

Chatham has a rich history of working closely with CEOs, boards, and senior leaders in organisations as diverse as Fortune 100 corporations, owner-led businesses, elite universities, and cultural institutions.

Join us on this intriguing journey as we discover the art of teaching one to fish rather than just handing them one.

In this conversation, Chatham discusses topics such as:

  • Importance of learning from different fields

  • Rick Rueben and not chasing golden records

  • Rethinking shareholder value

  • The exploration-exploitation dilemma

  • The more we do things to survive, the more we impoverish our ability to live.

  • Results from jumping the chasm of fear & inauthenticity

  • Making conscious choices and not living on autopilot

  • Not getting immediate payoff as a parent
