Prior to Ecopetrol, he held leadership roles at Argentinian energy companies including general manager at Bridas Corporation, senior manager for business development at Pan American Energy, and director of energy at Sideco Americana. Juan Manuel was the Vice Minister of Energy in Colombia in 2000 and 2001. He received a master’s in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a master’s and bachelor’s in economics from la Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.
