Steve Van Diest spent the past dozen years as an entrepreneur, and he founded two businesses in the fast-growing sleep space. In the first business, he helped lead a franchised multi-state retail mattress concept that grew to over 4 regions nationally. Steve also co-owned 4 Denver area locations. His second business was a B2B and B2C e-commerce natural pillow manufacturing business. He spent the first half of his career in non-profit leadership, that took him to live internationally in Chile, Spain, and Mexico.
Steve has been married for 28 years to his wife, Christine. Together, they have 4 children: Jonathan, Benjamin, Isabela, and Jacob (ages 23-14). Steve earned an undergrad degree in Mathematics from Cal Poly and a graduate degree in Entrepreneurship from Bakke Graduate University. As a University of Colorado football fan, he can be found cheering on his oldest son, an inside linebacker for the Buffs. #SkoBuffs!
Steve and I sat down to discuss his journey and how he got to where he is today. He shares insights into what he believes is success versus failure, life lessons that have had the biggest impact on his career life, and the faith-led way in which he departed from his business. We also get into his marriage and relationship and how they’ve helped him grow on the business side of things. Steve also shares the toughest job he’s ever had, the most influential people in his life, and guidance for those thinking about starting the entrepreneurial journey.
What’s Inside:

  • How Steve defines success in his life and business.
  • How Steve’s marriage has grown and impacted his entrepreneurial journey.
  • Tips for entrepreneurs just starting out.
