In this episode, I sit down with the internationally acclaimed soulful jazz vocalist, Sharon Marie Cline as we chat about her musical journey and experiences as an artist, and how music has been a pivotal part of her life from a young age.

Sharon shares how she believes music was her destiny, and how her mom enrolled her in theater and music classes to bring her out of her shyness as a child. Growing up with music always playing in their house, she found inspiration from artists like Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Duke Ellington, and Aretha Franklin.

Being an introvert by nature, Sharon discusses how music became her outlet for expression and communication with the world. She shares how it helped her overcome shyness and develop her voice as an artist.

The conversation then shifts to the challenges she faced in the industry. Sharon talks about the pressure to conform to certain expectations and be like other artists, which she resisted. Instead, she found her own authentic voice and style, navigating with her heart and expressing her unique artistic vision.

We delve into the rare vocal range that Sharon possesses—a five-octave range, putting her in the company of iconic artists like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. We discuss how she developed her range through vocal practice, breathing techniques, and emotional connection to her music.

Moving on to Sharon's projects, we listen to a snippet of her song "Close to You," showcasing her mesmerizing vocal abilities and emotional depth. The interview wraps up with a promise of more exciting music to come from this exceptional artist.
