In this episode I would like to continue with a discussion about (what I call) the introduction to the promises. It is the paragraph before, or at the beginning of, the promises, depending on how you like to look at them. The following is the line of which I’m speaking:

If I am painstaking about this phase of my development …

To begin, I feel a little confused about exactly what phase of my development we are talking about. Does it mean the end of the ninth step? Does it mean before we are finished the sixth step, (halfway through the steps)? I like to think it means halfway through the program, which to me is the steps.

For me, these promises began to come true when I was only about ¼ of the way through the steps. As I’m sure you know from reading just about anything I’ve written, the real “aha” moment for me was the first three steps, and the third step in particular.

Of course, I couldn’t do this all at once and, as a matter of fact, I still have difficulty in turning things in my life over to God. It is much better than ever, but I certainly do still have my “moments”. Once again, I do not expect this episode to be a long one.

As a side, you may want to know that I write these descriptions just before I start to actually do the podcasts. This way I am looking at the material and I start to formalize in my mind exactly what the things are that I would like to talk about. Hopefully, by doing things in this manner I will not come across as a total idiot in the podcast. I think, however, it is my willingness to “turn things over” to God when I actually do the podcast. Believe me, I really, really do try to let my Spirit do the talking as much as possible.
