When Diane Stoddart of Preparing for Tomorrow joins us, we don't just talk shop about long-term care—we get personal. As your host, Mike Sedita, I share my own twist with multiple sclerosis at the ripe age of 40, and Diane opens up about her journey, turning her family's needs into a nationwide mission to educate on medical and financial preparedness. We're not holding back on the tough stuff, like the hurdles of securing insurance with pre-existing conditions and why diving into long-term care planning now can save you a world of stress later. It's about being ready for the curveballs life throws your way and ensuring you don't strike out when it comes to your future care.
But it's not all serious business; we lighten the mood with some tales of tail-wagging companions, Frank and Norman. They might not be the best of pals with other pups, but their antics sure bring a dose of laughter to our lives. We'll also step up to the plate and chat about the great American pastime—baseball. Whether it's debating the designated hitter rule or reminiscing about stadium hot dogs, we cover all the bases, making connections between the sport's evolution and our own life changes.
In the spirit of community and looking out for one another, we wrap up with a salute to Diane as an exemplar of the good neighbor philosophy. If you're pondering your own long-term care, or just need a reminder of the joys that pets and family traditions can bring, this episode is a home run. Tune in for a heartfelt mix of practical advice, personal stories, and a shared love for the little things that make life worth living.
Diane Stoddart is a Certified Long Term Care Planning Specialist. Since 2001, she has been helping families to plan for the emotional, physical and financial exposure of an extended care need. Diane prides herself in designing a customized plan for each client to protect themselves and their families, using multiple top-rated insurance carriers.
Diane and her husband, Paul, bought their long term care policies at the young age of 35, long before most people even consider this type of planning. At 40, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By the grace of God, she has no symptoms or troubles with the disease. She is, however, uninsurable and is so grateful that she was led to plan early.
