Hello Earthlings! In this enlightening episode, we sit down with Philipp Ruez, Head of Sales for Industrial Applications at EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies, and our host, Lisa Ann Pinkerton, to delve into the transformative world of hydrogen fuel cells. They discuss the basic principles of how fuel cells generate power to their significant impact on decarbonizing heavy industries, Phillip shares his insights on the technology that might just be our planet's green savior.

Discover why fuel cells, producing only water and electricity, are considered a pivotal eco-friendly energy solution, especially for heavy-duty applications where lithium-ion batteries fall short. Learn about the intricate process that turns hydrogen into energy, the unique advantages of Philipp's company's fuel cell designs, including their unparalleled power density and efficiency, and how these innovations are paving the way for a cleaner, sustainable future.

Lisa Ann and Philipp talk about the diverse applications of fuel cells across various sectors, including marine transport, heavy machinery, and even the potential in the steel production industry. With special attention to the role of hydrogen in hard-to-electrify sectors, they discuss the blend of technologies, including the complementary use of batteries and fuel cells, to achieve optimal energy solutions.

Restoring our Faith in Humanity this week is David Milarch, founder of the Archangel Ancient Tree Archive in California. The Archangel Ancient Tree Archive focuses on cloning the world's oldest trees to combat climate change. Their aim is to reforest the Earth with trees that are resistant to warming temperatures and wildfire. The 130 species Milarch has cloned include sequoias, redwoods, and thousand year old oaks from Ireland. From his point of view, he says that these ancient trees have the capacity to sequester ten times more CO2 than an average tree. Thanks for all your wonderful work David!
