When they say that you have to believe in yourself first, it’s not just about belief in your product. Believe in yourself as a person. You have to believe that you can do this thing, and do it well. You have to believe in your ability to stand up for yourself and what you believe in. You have to believe that you can be assertive without being aggressive. You have to believe that no matter how many times you get knocked down, or how many times people tell you “no”, or how much they try to tear you down, you will get back up again because this is who you are and this is what matters most to you.
