My guest today is Katrina Johantgen who is the Executive Director of the California School Finance Authority where since 2000 she has overseen the development of the state and federal charter school grant and loan programs. Under her leadership The California School Finance Authority has disbursed over $4 and half billion dollars to non-profit borrowers for educational facilities and student housing.

Katrina is an innovative leader serving at the helm of this state agency housed within the California State Treasurer's Office. Prior to joining the California School Finance Authority, Katrina worked eight years in the public finance sector. Katrina graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has three sons.

In this episode Katrina talks about her upbringing as the daughter of immigrants, responsibility to the planet, the values she has given her sons in relation to money, and the importance of giving back.
