About Our Guest

Beverly Stanton Cook has spent her life advocating for others. As an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, she has served in almost every facet of local church ministry across the US. Pastoring in Houston, San Diego, and Harlem give her a deep appreciation for ministry within the cultural context. In each context, she has challenged the church to get involved in social justice causes in the community. Currently, Beverly serves as the Director of Communications for Dignity Freedom Network. DFN stands alongside the poor and marginalized in India to break ancient chains of discrimination and poverty through education, trafficking prevention and rescue, economic empowerment, and healthcare.

Beverly is married to David Cook, a life-long educator seeking to bring equity into the classroom for students of color. Together, they have 3 children and two dogs. In her free time, she likes to read, binge watch, cook, go to the beach, garden, practice yoga, and organize cupboards.
