E32: Interview with Lynne Harwood

Lynne is the CEO of Forrest Personnel and in this episode, we talk about so many amazing leadership concepts with a key focus around servant leadership. Lynne gave some insights on how to fill that space by making yourself as indispensable as possible though focussing on being there to serve above everything else. The most effective way to do this is to make it all about employees and the organisation and less about you.

Lynne also discussed the difference between leadership and management being that management is creating an environment where the team are doing things right and leadership is creating a space where the team is doing the right thing. We also touched a little on the Ego and how understanding our Ego is the key to understanding ourselves and helps us stand on the right side of the fine line between confidence and cockiness. The key element that really stuck with me from the interview with Lynne was her analogy about us all being like a fist in a bucket of water. We should be able to remove our fist allowing the water to go in and fill the space with ease yet still leave the water enriched by us having been there.
