Gently Bern, a passionate vegan chef with six years of experience, has embarked on a journey to provide plant-based and vegan cuisine to her community. With her expertise in southern, Geechy Gullah, and West Indies Trinidadian flavors, Gently has successfully redefined the idea of vegan food. As the first black female-owned vegan business along the Grand Strand, she has made a name for herself by creating delicious and innovative dishes that have captured the hearts of vegans and non-vegans alike. Gently's dedication to her craft has led her to participate in Carla Hall's Favorite Chef Competition, proving that her passion for vegan cooking knows no bounds.

Supporting Black-Owned Businesses Supporting local businesses strengthens not just the local economy but also fosters a sense of community among members – benefits that are even more significant when these businesses are owned by minority communities facing various social and economic challenges. Encouraging people to actively support black-owned businesses helps to level the playing field, create opportunities, and establish a more inclusive and equitable business landscape. Lion Fludd and Gently Bern discuss the importance of backing black-owned businesses, emphasizing the impact of simple gestures, like voting in a competition or sharing links on social media, on these businesses' success.
