Paige Heron has been a carpenter since she was 19 years old. It all started with a week off in her first year of fire-fighting college and encouragement from her dad to go work for a millwork company. Carpentry was just a summer gig, until college was done, but she loved it so much that she jumped into a pre-apprenticeship and hasn't looked back. As @carpenterpaigey, she has an active social media following as where she shares her work and experiences and seeks to normalize the image of women in carpentry and women in trades and seeks to be a role-model for the next generation. In this episode we talk about why the details matter in rough-carpentry, the importance of supportive mentors, and the privilege of educating others about women's place in construction.
