Welcome back to the Own Your Revival Podcast!

I recently uncovered a tattered, 1952 copy of Norman Vincent Peale’s book, “The Power of Positive Thinking” I purchased in college. My 20-something year old self was searching for answers to life’s big questions in a way that was not conformed to the life of a Catholic Christian and frankly opened up the door to an entirely different sort of spirituality prevalent (and seemingly benign) throughout the culture. While thinking positively, setting goals and working towards them area all “good” things in and of themselves, there is a very real concern when the popular practice of “manifesting” is applied to them. Join me as I unpack the problem these practices and thoughts created for me in living as a Catholic and how I found the path to peace outside of them.
