The 76ers beat the Miami Heat 105 to 104 in the Eastern Conference first play in game. The 76ers were able to overcome a first half That featured 12 turnovers and shooting just 3-of-18 from beyond the ark to get the win. Nico Batum was the main reason the Sixers we're able to come back and change their fate in the second-half. After the Heat’s Caleb Martin missed two free throws around the 7-minute mark of the third quarter the Batum went on a tear, hitting six 3-pointers to lead the Sixers’ turnaround. He Finished with 20 points off the bench on 6-of-10 shooting from three. Joel embiid struggled in the first half but was able to get a team high 23 points in the win and pull down 15 rebounds. The Sixers will now face the New York Knicks in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs beginning Saturday.
The Philadelphia Phillies completed the sweep in their three-game series against the Rockies with a 7-6 win. Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs for his 4th and 5th of the season, while Trea Turner stayed red hot going 3-for-5 including his 2nd home run on the year.
Christopher Sanchez started for the Phils and tossed 6 innings of one run baseball, striking out 10. He surrendered 5 hits and his lone run was unearned.
The Phillies bullpen was solid with the exception of the 1/3 of an inning pitched by Gregory Soto. He was charged for 5 runs all earned on 3 hits and issued 2 walks.
Jose Alvarado came in for his third save of the season using 18 pitches to get through the 9th.
Eaglws held press conferences Wednesday, Jalen Hurts talked about the leader he wants to be in the upcoming season.
