It seemed as though God had lost to Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians. At times it seems this evil World is winning. The reader is to understand, that we must not judge by feeble sense the happenings in this World. By the end of Daniel 1, we see that the LORD indeed wins, as He is even to this day.
